When you’re stuck in bumper-to-bumper traffic on the interstate and all you can think about is “Why can’t I generate people to my website like this,” you know you’re a marketer.
You’re not alone if you’ve had trouble getting people to your website. In 2020, the Content Marketing Institute conducted a study that found 63% of content professionals struggled to locate enough staff members that were proficient in content strategy, one of the top factors in driving website traffic.
It’s challenging to go back and determine what is and isn’t bringing visitors to your website while you’re busy producing fresh blog posts, updating social media, and planning new email campaigns.
1. PROPER KEYWORD RESEARCH
Include important keywords consistently throughout your article. Instead of being overused to the point where they distract the reader or take away from the main concept, keywords should be utilized naturally. It’s crucial to integrate keywords into the script frequently, such as in the meta description, page title, URL, and headers.
You can utilize tools like Moz, Ahrefs, and SEMrush to carry out keyword research. These websites provide a wealth of useful data to help with keyword planning, such as the keywords that rival businesses are using, the frequency of keyword searches, the cost of keywords for pay-per-click advertisements, similar keywords, and much more.
2. STAY ACTIVE ON SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORM
Social media plays a big role in luring customers. It should be utilized in the following ways to boost website traffic:
- Post content across all of your social media platforms (blogs, e-books, white papers, infographics, videos, etc.).
- Use relevant hashtags
- Respond to followers’ comments, repost their content, and tag them in your posts to engage with them.
- Whenever new content is published, update the link in your bio to promote it.
- Change the cover photo to highlight fresh content and tag any relevant influencers
- Respond to inquiries from other people by providing links to your content.
3. WRITE GUEST POST
A great approach to building backlinks, enhancing referral traffic, and improving search engine results page (SERP) rankings is to write guest posts for other websites. When pitching, you should always conduct comprehensive research on websites in your sector.
Make sure a website’s content is of the highest caliber first, then examine its domain authority and review its guest blogging policies. Ask the magazine if they will tag you and promote the post on social media as well.
4. USE ADVERTISING TO BOOST WEBSITE TRAFFIC
Using sponsored search, social media, and display ads to advertise can be an effective strategy to boost website traffic. Before spending a lot of money on an option, it’s essential to set budgets and goals because each has advantages and disadvantages. For example, users can block display advertisements, and the average cost per click for Google Ads on the search network is between $1 and $2 per click.
For instance, it’s crucial to start with one campaign and a few different ad groups including the keywords you want to target most when running pay-per-click per click (PPC) ads. Once campaigns are active, observe how audiences respond to different terms. It’s possible that one keyword produced simple impressions, which didn’t improve website traffic, while another one produced clicks and conversions.
5. MAKE MEMORABLE CONTENT
It’s not enough to simply upload material; you also need to provide content that stands out from the crowd. In fact, one of the best strategies to increase website traffic is to provide engaging and informative content.
Your information should be available to offer the exact, comprehensive, and accurate answers that people use Google to locate. In actuality, websites with blog content produce 434% more pages that are indexed by search engines than those without. Additionally, websites with more than 16 posts per month get almost 3.5 times as much traffic as those with 0 to 4 articles per month.
The simple lesson is that your website traffic should increase if you give your content some thought, post frequently, and learn what your audience wants to read.
6. EXCHANGE BACKLINKS
There are many prospects for backlink exchanges because so many companies are attempting to enhance website traffic. Contact relevant websites and offer your content as an extra source to be used in one of the posts on those websites. You can add a second incentive by proposing a backlink swap that benefits both parties, promising to include one of their links in a post of yours as well.
For one of our clients, Rainbow Muffler & Brake, we actually carried that out. The Essential Road Trip Checklist for Your Car is the blog post we wrote for them. Then, using Pitchbox to locate pertinent websites, we contacted those websites to ask if they would consider promoting our piece.
The best way to enhance your website traffic is by creating a website that people love. You should write content that is useful and entertaining, but also thought-provoking, so that people will read it. The more time people spend on your site, the more likely they are to share it with their friends, which will help you get more visitors in the long run.
